Pomegranate Vanilla Red Sangria
Saturday, January 16, 2016
This is the best sangria! I make it with Cupcake Red Velvet, which already tastes like vanilla on its own (apparently it's oaked), so it goes perfectly.
I could drink the whole pitcher.
Pomegranate Vanilla Red Sangria
1 apple (I used gala), 1/2 inch dice
1 pear (I used d'anjou), 1/2 inch dice
Arils of 1 pomegranate (optional)
1 orange, cut into wedges
1 bottle of red wine (try a shiraz or a red blend)
12 oz (1 can) cranberry/pomegranate dry or ginger ale
1/2 cup (4 oz) pomegranate juice
6 tbsp (3 oz) brandy
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
Add the fruit to a pitcher. Pour the wine, soda, pomegranate juice and brandy over the fruit. Add the cinnamon sticks and vanilla extract. Stir to combine. Allow to sit for at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy!
